Well,my internet connectivity problems are solved;but anyway,I've finally perfected my mock voice cast list for an anime version of the Tomoko Taniguchi anime "Call Me Princess."The only cast member NOT etched in stone is who Kappei-sama is being paired with.**The first 5 characters are in order of appearance in the manga, roles with an asterisk are for extra anime-only minor characters that lack actual dialogue in the manga:

  • Ayako Kawasumi(Ruriko Ikusawa in Gatekeepers)as Makoto Takenouchi
  • Tomokazu Seki(Domon Kasshu,Touya Kinomoto) as Shin(Shoko's husband)
  • Houko Kuwashima(Yurika Misamaru,Kirika Yuumura,Sango)as Shoko(Shin's Wife)
  • Motoko Kumai(Li Shaoran in Card Captor Sakura) as Yo Takayama
  • Yuuko Miyamura(Asuka Langley Souryu,Ayane Matsui) as Maki
  • Kouichi Yamadera*(Ryouga Hibiki,Spike Spiegel,Ryouji Kaji)as Maki's father
  • Mika Kanai*(Mei Mar in KO Seiki Beast)as Maki's mother
  • Yumiko Kobayashi(Excel Kobayashi),Mikako Takahashi(Mikako Hyatt),and Tomoko Kawakami(Utena Tenjou,Rika Sasaki) as additional female student voices
  • Hiromi Tsuru**(Ukyou,Ranma-kun's best fiancée)as Makoto's and Shoko's mother
  • Kappei Yamaguchi(Ranma-kun,Inu-Yasha,Fancy Lala's Tarou Yoshida,and many other anime/game characters) as Makoto's and Shoko's father
  • Toshihiko Seki*(Mousse,Duo Maxwell)as the homeroom teacher
  • Kouji Tsujitani*(Hiroshi in Ranma ½,Miroku in Inu-Yasha)as the P.E. teacher
  • Kenichi Suzumura(Kamui in X TV)as Ryuu
  • Kentarou Itou(Jun Aoi in Kidou Senkan Nadeshiko)as Pon Ohata
  • Megumi Hayashibara*(Ranma-chan,Rei Ayanami,Ongo,Faye Valentine,and others)as the hospital nurse
  • Tetsuya Iwanaga(Kensuke Aida) and Kenji Nojima(Setsuna in Angel Sanctuary) as Ryuu's male friends
  • Kikuko Inoue(Kasumi Tendou,Belldandy) as the shopkeeper
  • Miki Itou(Sonomi Daidouji,Hokuto Sumeragi in Tokyo Babylon,Nova)as Ryuu's and Shin's mother
  • Hideyuki Tanaka(Fujitaka Kinomoto)as Ryuu's and Shin's father
  • Yuuji Ueda(Yoshio in Fancy Lala,Akito Tenkawa, and the true Japanese voice of Rurouni Kenshin's Sanosuke Sagara)the Bike Race announcer
  • Issei Miyazaki*(Yamazaki-kun in CCS,Subaru Sumeragi in X/1999 the movie) and Shoutarou Morikubo*(Iwata in Excel Saga)as additional bikers

Notice how I used younger seiyuu(born in the 70's and 80's)for most of the characters and used the older seiyuu(born in the 50's and 60's)for the adult roles.I just had to cast Kappei-sama in a dignified role as a married parent(though it hasn't actually happened unless you count the future/fantasy sequences in the Ranma ½ anime)to guarantee his character a love interest voiced by a quality female seiyuu.Additionally,I had to assign Yo Takayama to an otokoyaku since he seems to be an antagonist. If you're not familiar with this manga,a nutshell summary can be found here.

**Owing to the "act of treason"(i.e.Hiromi Tsuru's previous marriage to another VA),I reserve the right to substitute who I'm pairing Kappei-sama with.The short list of alternates includes(but is not limited to):Wakana Yamazaki(Ran Mouri),Yumi Touma(Urd,Deedlit),Aya Hisakawa(Sailor Mercury,Yohko Mano,Kero-chan,Miki Kaoru,Tarta,and others),Chieko Honda(Chigako Ogawa,Kozue Kaoru),Ai Orikasa(Ryouko,Quatre),Minami Takayama(Nabiki Tendou,Ascot),Kumiko Nishihara(Shiori Takatsuki,Iris),Maya Okamoto(Haruka Minato,Orihime),Yuuko Mizutani(Mihoshi,Great Will of the Macrocosm),Ikue Ohtani(Pikachu),Kikuko Inoue(see above),Kotono Mitsuishi(Sailor Moon,Excel,Juri Arisugawa,and others),Yuriko Yamaguchi(unrelated to Kappei-sama,but voiced EVA's Ritsuko Akagi as well as Wonder Okayama in an episode of Fancy Lala),and Yuri Shiratori(Mokona,Arisu Sakaguchi in PSME,Nanami Kiryuu).If Kikuko-san is paired with Kappei-sama,Kotono-san would inherit Kikuko-san's original assigned role.
