First of all, there was that stretch of 8 morning shifts in 9 days
that was so tiring that I didn't feel like posting. However that was nothing...
Overnight a couple nights ago,a female acquaintance of my divorced uncle's(after getting a hold of the house key he "lost")got into the house in the middle of the night and swiped some cash and a few hairclips, though my mom was awakened enough that she did rob us of anymore belongings...
Then today, still on edge, some pestering transient kept touching my Gigabeat
as he thought it was his while I was making a switchover at a light rail station
on the way home from my regular(at least semi-monthly)jaunt for my fix of raw manga phonebooks as well as Japanese snacks and beverages
(I'll save that phonebook manga descriptions for a later post);and as I was walking away and trying to keep him away,he ripped it(and the belt-clip case)off my belt and fled by foot(though I was physically unharmed). There were a few witnesses(at least a couple regular riders who noted that he frequently hangs around that busier station daily)and I was able to file a security incident report;but getting it back could be easier said than done if the perpetrator(though unarmed)was homeless(though he looked to clean shaven to be associated with that type, though I could be wrong). How soon I'll feel like shopping for a replacement model
depends on if or whether any leads turn up,but I've definitely decided that neither an iPod
would be at the top of my shopping lists.Never mind that they'd be more theft-prone that what I had:they utilize unconventional file formats that require the normal .wma
files to be converted before
syncronizing them.Even then,I'm not rethinking my regular trips to Oto's(contrary to my mom's twisted fantasies, not
to pick up Japanese female otaku
),though I'll likely take an alternate route on future trips.Anyhow,I activated the complimentary Stuffbak
security decal that came with a Case Logic
product that I had purchased a long time ago and stuck it onto notebook
and ordered a couple more labels online(one to stick on whichever replacement digital jukebox I eventually purchase). Not to mention that last night I started making use of the notebook combination lock I had purchased at Circuit City
What a relief for 6 straight days off(even though today was day 1)...
OTOH,congrats to the new North American home run king
,though it's unlikely that Sadaharu Oh
will ever be caught...
Happy birthday to Kazumi Tanaka(who turns 56),
Kishou Taniyama(who turns 32),and Kaori Fukuhara(who turns 21)...
