It's only the first day of a weeklong event,but I wasn't going to let it slip on by...

Anyway,Barnes and Noble has been selling a line of CD's from EMI-distributed indie label Petrol Records called The Greatest Songs Ever each featuring the best songs from specific countries around the world.Though a newer title in the line,I managed to grab Japan:The Greatest Songs Ever before work today;and this features material from the 50's and 60's,maybe the 70's.Though long before the current waves(from the 90's on)of J-pop,it features hits from famed Japanese musicians of the past(such as Hibari Misora,The Peanuts,and Kyu Sakamoto.If you want a taste of older Japanese music,this collection should be available at least via the online retailers such Amazon.com if you can't physically locate it...
