Well,it seems that whenever Replay Weekend
rolls around,someone manages to beat me to that Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi
CD before I can get it.However,I did manage to grab a Furuba messenger bag(featuring a cat,a rat,and an onogiri atop the Japanese logo)
while I was still there(and not simply because some people have them).I was lucky to to walk out empty-handed,because I wasn't at Suncoast as long as I wanted to be.That was because the Sacramento SPCA was having a charity used book sale inside a vacant storefront in Sunrise Mall
.The books were grouped into up to two dozen categories.One of them was foreign language,and I discovered 2-3 dozen Japanese titles.I browsed through all of them though I couldn't read most of it.No,there wasn't any imported manga;but I did
find a copy of Sanseido's Exceed English-Japanese dictionary(1998 first edition)
.Even better(even though it wasn't a 2-way dictionary),it was a mere buck.Figuring I'd be able to find the reverse version(Japanese-English)online,I bought it.In fact,this morning I found(and ordered/purchased)that matching Japanese-English edition at Powells.com
(a small bookstore chain in the PDX metro area
that is also a unionized dot-com business).Speaking of ordering Japanese dictionaries online,my Shogakukan Pocket Progressive Japanese Dictionary
arrived a couple of days ago...
As for World Tour Soccer
;I breezed past Ghana,Nigeria,and Senegal(it that order,as South Africa)to win the Africa Cup.I've now started on the Asia-Oceania Cup;and Japan(yes,I'm playing as them again)blitzed past Vietnam 4-0 in the opening round-robin match.The goals were scored by Hidetoshi Nakata(twice)
,and Naohiro Takahara
.Next match is versus Pakistan...
If only my sister hadn't bought herself World of Warcraft
(which must be played online),I'd post more often...*_*;;;
