| I can't understand why some are fussy about the fact that Obama had the heart to bow to the Emperor and Empress of Japan. All he did was something customary even though his predecessor didn't necessarily follow this.Patriotism doesn't have to be synonymous with arrogance... While I was both delayed getting off of work and making it to bed last night due to a "security system error,"turns out Thursday has a more favorble forecast(for the purpose of making that routine trip to Oto's)as the rain won't come till well after dark... Happy birthday to Gorou Naya(who turns 80),Yoshito Yasuhara(who turns 60),Saori Sugimoto(who turns 45),and Ryoutarou Okiayu(who turns 40)... | |

| Emperor Akihito recently commemorated 20 years on the Japanese throne.I hadn't thought too much of this, but he's already outreigned the emperor Taishou by some 6 years... Happy birthday to Banjou Ginga(who turns 61),Hideyuki Tanaka(who turns 59),Hiromi Ishikawa(who turns 48),and Aya Hisakawa(who turns 41 and actually does a halfway decent male voice even though she hasn't commonly been cast in such roles)... | |

| Congratulations to Miki Andou on winning the 2009 NHK trophy... As inadequate as transit is locally,at least it hasn't been strike-prone as it has often been in Philly... Happy birthday to both Akiko Takamura(who turns 87)and Naomi Shindou(who apparently turns 37 though I have some doubt since she didn't surface as a seiyuu until a decade ago)... | |

| ...and now Ms. Shriver was videotaped illegally parking in a red zone.I guess she feels that Arnold has nothing to lose since he'll be mercifully(for us Californians)termed out in just under 15 months.Hopefully, the Office of the Governor of California will be in safer(Democratic)hands then... On the eve of the opening game of the 2009 World Series, the best thing any orange and black fan could ask for is a Phillie repeat... Happy birthday to Yukiko Nikaidou(who turns 69),Junichi Kanemaru(who turns 46),and Chiharu Tezuka(who turns 35)... | |

| I'm pretty sure everyone reading this has to feel sorry for all 3 children at the center of their parents' 'balloon boy' hoax plot. For some reason, while she didn't really have to go along with or agree with the actions of her lunatic husband,I kinda feel sorry for the mother to a limited extent... Well, turns out that Google Street View has updated some images for NorCal.Though the shots are at least several months old, some shots near various Rite Aid locations in the north state are recent enough to show "WELCOME LONGS CUSTOMERS:Transfer Your Prescription Today!" along such buildings... Happy birthday to Gou Aoba(who turns 40),Sayaka Aoki(who turns 37),and Saki Fujita(who turns 25)... | |

| Aside from the climate change implications connected with the Arctic Ocean becoming open sea within the next quarter century, wouldn't there be an equivalent of a Cape Horn or Cape of Good Hope once the Arctic becomes ice-free during the summer and fall months?I'm pretty sure there would have to be rough waters even in warm season... Happy birthday to Eisuke Yoda(who turns 82),Masako Katsuki(who either turns 50 or 51 depending on source),Masahiro Nonaka(who turns 41),and Masako Yamamoto(who turns 37)... | Coming into work yesterday,I was really wondering whether the store would still be functioning normally:The ceiling had sprung several leaks during the monster rainstorm;and one area near the rear was so bad that not only did a number of ceiling tiles have to be removed, but also the affected aisles(liquor and convenience groceries,no less)were partially blocked to through access, though there wasn't much inventory loss if any. There were a lot of plastic totes in a number of aisles to pick up the leakage.By the time the store was vacated for the evening, fortunately, the worst of the storm system had already moved into the Sierra Nevada.Today,it only rained a little in the morning while I was still sleeping in on a day off sorely needed after yesterday's storm headache, but another storefront in an older building on the opposite side of the shopping center from work did suffer a roof failure though all escaped unharmed... Turns out California's First Lady was caught on camera cell-phoning and driving without a hand's free device.Though it wasn't her actor-turned-politician husband who was caught,Arnold is still hypocritical in a lot of ways... Turns out a new Uchuu Senkan Yamato movie will be out in time for the holiday season in Japan.Though his role is dissimilar to characters in other animated Leiji Matsumoto works in which he lent his voice to,Kappei-sama is among a decently solid seiyuu cast though only a handful of characters are voiced by josei_seiyuu... Happy 36th birthday to Yukie Maeda. While playing Puyo Puyo Fever,I could have sworn that Accord was voiced by an old-school seiyuu(i.e.,Yuriko Yamaguchi,Kikuko Inoue, among others)rather than her... | |

| It seems that a lack of an internet connection does retard the speed of a routine virus scan.My comp started one around 9:45 and still hadn't finished when I left at 11:35 due to the connection going out for 90 minutes after the scan started. With an intact connection,it would have been done faster... Happy 31st birthday to Ayumi Hamasaki. If it weren't for avex mode's 'Copy Control' preventing certain lawful actions,I'd have at least one of her CD's.Had Tokyo not lost out to Rio for the right to host the 2016 Summer Olympics,I'm pretty sure that she would have secured a singing performance role in the opening and/or closing ceremonies. At least Tokyo outlasted Chicago in the balloting,no offense to the President cause he still has my vote... | If the Empire State Building can honor the 60th anniversary of the PRC,why can it at least occasionally honor important Japanese events?OTOH,I can fully understand when they honor Columbus(with colors of the Italian tricolor)and Irish history... While the true judges are with the IOC,conventional wisdom says that Rio won't get the 2016 Summer Olympics just because South America has yet to host the games even though Tokyo has two other formidable contenders in Chicago and Madrid... Happy birthday to both Masahiko Tanaka(who turns 55)and Naoki Kinoshita(who turns 40)... Post from mobile portal m.livejournal.com | |
