A tale of two hot days in Golden State's capital region...

Yesterday, the local temperature cracked the century mark.I was out of the house for a short walk(first to get a haircut, then to grab a few things each at Safeway and CVS/pharmacy)before lunchtime.Once home however,it seemed to heat up inside because the AC took its sweet time kicking in.Despite keeping hydrated,I failed to sweat and felt dizzy for an hour or two.Fortunately,I managed to shake it off by dinnertime.Today I was out of the house for several hours and was clear across town for over half the time(mainly for another trip to Oto's).While it was only maybe a couple degrees cooler than yesterday,I actually sweated a lot more than yesterday(unlike yesterday's heatstroke symptom scare).Tomorrow, some forecast models indicate a slight chance of valley thunderstorms...

Congratulations to both Mika Sugimoto(women's heavyweight judo)and Takaharu Furukawa(men's individual archery)on their respective silver medal performances. While Japan's 2 gold medals(out of 21 total medals so far)are the fewest of any nation that has won at least 20 medals in London so far,I'm confident that they can at least triple their gold medal total by time this Olympic flame is doused. While my mom's native Thailand has only mustered a single silver(in women's weight lifting),the sports where they still have medal potential(i.e.,boxing)have yet to completely conclude...

Happy birthday to both Tohru Furusawa(who turns 50)and Erino Hazuki(who turns 37)...
