One last trip to the lame-duck Borders at Pavilions...

While none of the items I did manage to grab were Japan-centric(even the manga section lacked enough 'first volumes'),what I did grab included a 2011 NFL Record and Fact Book(to try to get myself in football mode),a California scenes 2012 mini-calendar,a Melbourne map(for a sprawling collection),and a Swiss Army knife to replace one that's falling apart. That was likely my last shot in doing my part to picking the place clean as there's already countdown signage('LAST 10 DAYS!')in the window. In fact,it may now get to the point that some Borders locations may outlast others(as was the case when Tower Records and Linens'n'Things both went belly-up in the past five years). In any case, while it's been a while since I was last at Oto's(the day before the Borders liquidation began),it would be interesting to see whether the supply issues involving imported Japanese items have eased yet or not(one I drop by in a couple weeks). While the Fukushima situation hasn't yet been completely resolved, there are other major ports to the west of Tokyo that were never disabled...

Further proof why Obama needs to be reelected next year:The 'President' of the Lone Star People's Republic has raised his state's speed limit to 85 MPH on top of the lack of a no-texting-while-driving law there(not that any of the other Conservatard 2012 hopefuls are any better). Not to mention that a Senate Democrat bravely stated an obvious truth that the Long Island Iced Tea Party can't handle...

Lately, even the Malware Bytes scans are taking their sweet time...

Happy birthday to Atsuko Yuya(who turns 41),Rieko Miura(who turns 38),and Saki Nakajima(who turns 33).Speaking of seiyuu,Kappei's one of the 'youngsters' of '25 most influential seiyuu' poll as chosen by 100 seiyuu,as more than half of the other entries are at least one seiyuu wave ahead of him...
